I signed almost a 3 years lease with freedom rides to help build my credit that was the sole reason of signing in the first place. 10/2016 we leased a 2006 Ford Five Hundred SEL , on 9/23/2019 our lease ended we paid over 20 GRAND for this car that is not even worth 1,000$ I got 3 different appraisals for the car towards the last year of my lease. Our contract stated the value at the end of the lease to own the car would be 2,700$ well they wanted over 3 Grand ! Refused to work with us attempting to buy the car out and offered no alternative saying we didn’t meet their new criteria not only that but when we signed for this lease we were told it would be reported to my credit, NOT ONCE IN over 2 years did they report it to my credit but when I noticed it wasn’t being reported I asked the woman who initially worked with us why? I was told at the end of the lease to get a letter of completion of the contract so I myself could send it to be reported on my credit. After asking for my letter of completion I was told that it was to late that apparently they sent letters out in May 2019 IF WE wanted to report it on our credit, first off why would you send a letter out after over two years offering to report it IF I WANTED IT REPORTED AND NOW REPORT IT THE MOMENT WE SIGNED THE LEASE CONTRACT? I NEVER RECEIVED ANY SAID LETTER NO ONE EVER SAID A WORD TO ME AND NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON THERE WENT EVEN A EXTRA INCH TO MAKE SURE WE WERE HELPED OR SATISFIED ON THE MATTER. I asked was there anything I need to sign, do we need to go inspect the car together, do I need to write a statement on my miles before leaving and them taking the car? the woman said NO IF THERE IS EXTA MILES WE WILL LET YOU KNOW I said well there is not I did all the math and did not feel comfortable being pushed out the door without having hem Look at the car before I left , I paid to get the car detailed cleaned before ended the lease , put brand new tiers on the car and no one made sure that I was completely covered before we had to leave empty handed. It’s mandatory when asked for a letter of completion or any type of receipt regarding completing the lease contract instead I got nothing no help and a entire BOOK OF EVERY SINGLE PAYMENT IVE EVER MADE THAT LITERALLY DOES NO GOOD FOR MY CREDIT! I put so much money into that car the very least these people can do is stick to their word and give me my letter of completion to actually help my life by actually boosting my credit score by over 100 points! Though out my entire contract YES they will work with you as best as possible if you have financial problems come up, I also had their IN HOUSE insurance 25$ a week included in my payments well in the middle of my lease about 18 months into it they FAILED to tell me it went up from 25$ to 38$ and did not give me any notice or reasoning why, but the second the lease was up and the moment I suddenly didn’t fit in their NEW criteria I was not of importance to them even considering they made over 20 Grand off me for a Car that literally is not even worth 1,000$ IN EXCELLENT BRAND NEW CONDITION. Even after me wasting all of that money I would of been so much satisfied IF FREEDOM RIDES would of reported to my credit from the very beginning or at the least provided me with my letter of completion of the contract to help build what they advertise to so many desperate people in desperate situations a way to build a better financial freedom.

Started a loan with them several years ago. Vehicle was repode for lack of payment... Maybe $6-$700. After several years later, they started garnish my wages... Almost $3000 is what they will take when its over... So, do I get the vehicle back when its over? Not sure what I'm paying for? Or why I'm paying at all. As much as they screw people over. They should be left Butt Hurt... Not me!

i had a vehicle back with this company in 2015 . Kept the vehicle for 2 years then decided that i would give it back. i didnt feel as though the vehicle was worth the amount they were trying to charge me too own the vehicle, When i made all of my payment early / on time. Was never late at all and never had my car cut off due too non-payment. Well they're trying garnish my wages and still make me pay for a vehicle that i gave back. My account manager was PAM who was the absolute best, But Autumn or Ashley whatever her name is , has no customer service and is very rude. DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE WITH THIS COMPANY and if anything READ THE FINE PRINT.

They lie sooooo bad and make you sign something and trick you one time I gotten into an accident and my truck was totaled even though it wasn’t my fault and sued that person who damaged my vehicle however the money I won from the settlement went straight to freedom rides and never recieved not one red dime from the accident in the other words I could of been dead and freedom rides could of gotten paid and not me....I advise you don’t get into the mess cuz they’re terrible all the way around...

Horrible slumlords

First, my own experience. Was told this Jeep would be 4 wheel drive. The MANAGER literally argued and made it a point to convince me that it was 4WD. It was not 4 wheel drive. Had to figure that out on my own when I got stuck in snow. Dave told me “it will kick in on its own.” Yea right. The check engine light came on not even a week after I pulled out of the lot and of course, I would of had to pay for it to be fixed. Gave up on the POS vehicle and they still have yet to pick it up. I guess their equipment broke? Next interaction was through my mother in law. She had the vehicle PAID OFF, the only thing that was owed is the damn bubble payment. Miss a two week payment and all of a sudden she owes over 800$??!! Makes no sense. How does it get to that in 2 weeks!???!! Then it gets towed and taken without the alarm ever coming on, or any type of notification. Had no idea she was even behind until it got towed. Horrible employees that don’t tell you everything or they lie to you. This is a slumlord company. Selling cars that are rigged. One of the hubcaps was literally held on with glue!! Glue! If you want a FAIR and UNDERSTANDING company, DO NOT GO TO FREEDON RIDES!

You are leasing the car that you are paying double for. At the end of two years u have to pay 2500.00 with final payment or they take the car back. I lost my key and they said i had to pay 500.00 well i found my key. At the end i did pay off the car and guess what ? Theu gave me two keys lol liars. They sold me junk. I wonder why they are not in dover anymore lmao. Everyone should do a class lawsuit .

This dealership well not even a dealership this side car shop should not even be in business they lease cars to you well over it’s value and then want to charge you extra money when your ready to pay in full to take possession. If your one cent short of your payment they charge you $5. If you need work done to your car that money doesn’t come out of your holding account that that was set up right away. The cars are old and junk and they want over $5000 for them I could on for days about their schemes. Stay far far away from them oh yeah they don’t report to credit beaurus anymore either.

Had a ticket , license suspended 2 days in . Planned to pay ticket the following day go out 730 at night to get my grandbaby formula and low and behold car is off .when I just paid the bill and now my daughter is stuck at work.

We dislike having to disable a customer's vehicle as much as the customer does. Unfortunately, we have to do the right thing sometimes and stop a car from being driven so that the general public is protected from potential danger and our company is protected from liability.

We simply could not, in good conscience, allow a driver with a suspended driver's license operate a leased vehicle. We are very sorry that it caused you an inconvenience and hope that you will understand the ethics behind our decision.

I have used this company to build my credit.

If you go out a kill someone with the car who'd liable if they are aware. Beast feed would have been your best course of action here.

They don’t explain all the hidden fees mileage overage or that if you need something fixed you may not be covered and have to come out of pocket if you are over the allowed amount of miles which is 12000 per year like do you think the people that come here to get cars have more than one means of transportation and they take forever to fix your car I just rode by their and mine is sitting out front in the parking lot it needs a transmission and Cadillac converter this is the second time haven’t even had the car for a year don’t get a car from them at these rates you could be driving a brand new Mercedes or bmw

I bought a used car from them they said it had everything. I really wish that was true but nope. It doesn’t have the 1 major thing u need in the summer time! A.C. I bought it back in the winter so no way was I gonna try it out.

Look this place is a straight joke i got a car from them the price was 5900 i put 1500 down and they acted like iwiuld have the car paid off in no time the whole time this lady is smiling cuase she knew i needed a car and was stuck at the end of sign she shows me the added fees and intrest so this 6000 dollar car turned into a 16,000 dollar car i could have bought a brand new car for that but nope i was stuck so the story goes i was one day late i called in cuase the car wouldnt start agreed to pay them on friday which was two days away and they said they sent a code so i coild drive the car and mind u i was sitting at a gas pump at the moment the car wouldnt start so after fight with the car for 30 mins and talking to these scam artist i reached under the dash unhooked there *** threw a jumper wire in and presto bango i drove away now mind u i returned there peice of *** car hooked back up the way they had it and i took the lose on my credit for the repossion charge even though i returned there car they didnt come get it but I refused to pay the return fee of 1200 a restock fee they claim after i gave u 1500 and gave u 500 a month for 6 months screw u these people do not tell u about there hidden fees until that last second after u have already gave them the deposit and signed a few pages u sit thereband ask how much is pay off and what are the payments oh we cant tell u that until the end but they could have told u but then u would not have bought the car and the gps cut off equipment they dont tell u about is 100% a privacy breach they can see where u go and how fast u are going so they know every stop u make evey road u take thats something cops do if u are a drug dealer not if u are buying a car i wish i would have hid my car in a storage unit and u *** could never have gotten it unless i unlocked the unit lol do not buy from this company unless u want to get *** straight in the *** without the lube

Worst Dealership ever!!!

Bought a vehicle from Easton, MD , have had this van for about one year, have had to have work done more than six times. The last time the steering rack had to be replaced. Was told that it was not covered under warranty, and would cost $900.00 to fix. Was advised by mechanic that he could not allow me to drive the vehicle off of the lot. So therefor I could not get a second opinion. When we got the car, I was told that there was a warranty that covered everything for $150.00. I asked for that in writing, which the saleslady told the manager Dave. He then came to the table and told me that everything was covered for the $150.00 and did not provide a written statement. The last time my van broke down, it had to be towed again after it completely died. I had to wait almost 5 hrs. before the tow truck came as I was not near home. I still have a loud rattle in the rear of my car every time I apply the brakes, and there is a sound in the front end. All of which I have told them about. They have never addressed the problem. After I purchased the car, she was taken in the rear to the mechanics to put a new battery in. I walked back to the service window to see them do the work. The window at the desk was open, when I over heard the mechanics talking about having sold the vehicle and that it was a piece of junk, they were glad it was getting out of there. When I advised the sales lady of what I had heard, she said, "Dave would never do that to anyone!" I asked to see a paper of what work had been done to the vehicle. I was told that they would talk to me later if I had any questions about it, Never gave me any answers. I found all this out after I bought the vehicle. Less than one year and I have had to get the battery replaced, and fear that the van is a ticking time bomb. I am afraid to put my children into their car seats in this vehicle for fear of it catching on fire...oh, for the second time...Dave told me, well you know used vehicles do need to have work done to them. Wants nearly $5000.00 to get out of this loan and leave me empty handed with no vehicle. Says that is due to wear and tear on the vehicle. Said well you have certainly been riding in this vehicle.. News flash Dave of Easton Freedom Rides...people buy cars so they can DRIVE them, you know used cars are also meant to be driven. Such a dumb answer. . Was so accommodating in the beginning , but as soon as the lease was signed, that ALL CHANGED. Plus they kept my car for over a week to order and fix part on car, and left me with no vehicle, that I still had to pay on and not use. No rentals here while they fix you car. Don't walk, RUN away from this dealership.

Dear Valued Customer,

I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. The terms and conditions of the power train warranty are included in your lease contract.

We would be more than happy to provide you will a copy - just give me a call. Generally speaking, the power train warranty covers all of the internally lubricated parts of the engine and transmission.

Unfortunately, the steering rack is not a covered item.

With regard to your battery, it is not uncommon to have to replace the battery in a used vehicle within a year or two after taking delivery.

One very important point that you did not mention in your post is that the car was driven more than 3 times the normal amount of miles per year while you had possession of it, which most likely explains why you have had so maintenance issues.

After paying four times what my car is worth I am at the end of my lease agreement. I now have the option to pay 2600 dollars in ONE payment to get my title OR sign another 6 month lease.

I asked if I could make payments to get my title and they said NO!! I can pay towards the 2600 during the 6 months, but I still have to pay the rental fee of 100 each week on top of paying towards getting my title.

This was the worst decision I ever made. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!!!!

I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your experience. Although I cannot discuss the specifics of your situation, I can respond in general terms about each of your concerns.

First, we take great care to make sure you, along with all of our customers, understand the terms and conditions of your contract before you leave the dealership.

We make sure of this by having our customers sign next to each and every paragraph in the lease agreement. We even have our customers hand-write a "statement of understanding." We want you to be successful and that is why we go to such great lengths to communicate your obligations. There should be no surprise, whatsoever, that you have a balloon payment due at the end of your lease. You also have the option to return the vehicle at the end of your contract and walk-away with your obligations fully satisfied or trade-up to nicer vehicle.

Second, by regulation, we are not allowed to accept installments on the balloon payment at the end of your lease.

Remember the lease structure gave you many benefits such as a lower weekly or monthly payment and lower up front taxes. The lease structure also allows you to have many other options such as the ability to terminate your contract at any time without the risk of being "upside down" with respect to your payoff.

Third, by allowing you to extend your lease for another 6 months we are actually providing a great value to you. For example, during the lease extension you continue to have collision protection, a power train warranty, free oil changes and free tire rotations. Furthermore, your credit will continue to build.
